The Train Set

  1. The first lesson uses the  word locomotive to help you learn about motion.

  2. Those terms easily combine into locomotion and you begin with your energy within a popular song.

  3. What is it?

  4. The main train set is circular and you use points to track the engine.  However, the centre will be used by you later making houses etc to fill the centre.

  5. Houses need roads, lighting, sewers etc.  You receive an introduction.

  6. The trains involve their own staff and onboard provision of human needs.

  7. The main station includes you thinking about the staff, the passengers, the resting places, snacks, WCs, information etc thereby extending science into everyday life.

  8. What else is there to think about on the station?

  21. If there is an end of year Science Week the main hall can include both train sets placed at a good distance involving tickets, more-than-simple- understanding of points, communication, the difference between passenger and goods traffic, accidents and so on.

  22. There's more so start thinking!
