You will have a piece of paper with all this on it and you'll be able to write notes in the lesson.

Best when you have first read the Referencing page here and the Source page here.

When people walk, run, or travel in a train or car, their speed changes.

  1. They may speed up, slow down or pause for traffic.

2 The speed at which a person can walk, run or cycle depends on many things including:

  1. age
  2. the ground or where they are moving
  3. fitness
  4. distance travelled

Some typical values for speed include:

Method of travelTypical speed (m/s)Typical speed (mph)
1  Walking1.53.4
2  Running511
3  Cycling715
4  Car13 - 3029 - 67
5  Train56125
6  Plane250560

6  It is not only moving objects that have varying speed.

7  The speed of the wind and the speed of sound also vary.

8  A typical value for the wind is about 12 m/s and the speed of sound in air is about 330 m/s.

In primary school science, motion is the change in position of an object over time, compared to being stationary. (means standing still)

Here are some examples of motion:

  1. Riding a bike.

  2. Pushing a box.

  3. A book falling off a table.

  4. Water flowing from a tap, and rattling windows.

  5. Pupils leaving the classroom in a hurry.

Based on this source.  Compare the different ways presented.
