Advice for pupils

 

1. Learning allows us to discover what kind of person we can be.

3. Learning widens knowledge, improves intelligence and provides a sense of achievement.

5. Learning from a book, should be efficient and enjoyable.

9. Post-it notes are useful!  Keep a scrapbook handy.

11. Now and then remove some post-it notes before you revise a page.

13. After, put them back and see what you think - better or worse?

17. Learn from paper – at your speed, and allow your mind to wander!

19. Think about how what you have read can be used.

21. If you read a text for study, summarise some sections you read, in your own words and images, aloud and then on a page.

25. Read a section again. Repeat this until you can clearly summarise what you read in your own words and images, aloud and then on a page
