Advice for pupils

  1. Learning allows us to discover what kind of person we can be.

  2. Learning widens knowledge, improves intelligence and provides a sense of achievement.

  3. Learning from a book, should be efficient and enjoyable.

  4.

  5. Post-it notes are useful!  Keep a scrapbook handy.

  6. Now and then remove some post-it notes before you revise a page.

  7. After, put them back and see what you think - better or worse?

  8.

  9. Learn from paper – at your speed, and allow your mind to wander!

  10. Think about how what you have read can be used.
  11.
  12. If you read a text for study, summarise some sections you read, in your own words and images, aloud and then on a page.

  13.

  14. Read a section again. Repeat this until you can clearly summarise what you read in your own words and images, aloud and then on a page

  15. And enjoy the telling others - aloud!
