1. A train set is used at this early stage.  It offers motion, energy and how they are moved.  Power/electricity comes from a power pack to give control.

3. A cog drive system links the motor to the wheels. The motor turns the gears that turn the wheels and drive the locomotive down the railway lines when the locomotive is powered by electricity. Simple! Your locomotive wheels' contact point with the rail is incredibly tiny.  Train wheels are surprisingly complicated and  you will see them.
